Many cities in the United States had public Conservatories, even the USA White House. These truly were grand old glass structures. The Lord and Burnham company was famous for building many of these original conservatories. Most old USA Conservatories are gone now, victims of disrepair and low priority budgets. The grace and style of the old buildings were caught on photographs and made into postcards during the USA’s early 1900′s.
This USA Conservatories gallery features our collection of old USA Conservatory postcard photos. Click the USA Conservatory image for a popup Conservatory enlargement.
